1. Introduction
This Cookie Policy explains how MyYacht.me (operated by INLD LIMITED, UK Company 12040493) uses cookies and similar technologies on https://myyacht.me in compliance with the GDPR (EU) 2016/679, the ePrivacy Directive 2002/58/EC, the UK PECR, and the Montenegro Law on Personal Data Protection.
On your first visit, our cookie banner asks for your consent to set non-essential cookies. You can accept all cookies, reject all non-essential cookies, or customise your preferences per category.
3. Categories of cookies
Strictly Necessary (Always Active)
Essential for the website to function — page navigation, security, session management, language selection, form submission. Without these, the site cannot work properly. These cookies do not store personal information used for marketing.
Legal basis: performance of a contract / legitimate interest of operating a functional website. No consent required under ePrivacy/PECR.
Analytics (Off by default — opt-in)
Help us understand how visitors interact with the site by collecting aggregated or pseudonymised statistics. We use Google Analytics for this purpose. The data helps us improve the platform.
Legal basis: Consent (GDPR Art. 6(1)(a) + ePrivacy Directive).
Functional (Off by default — opt-in)
Enable enhanced functionality such as remembering your language preference, currency selection, and recently viewed yachts. Not strictly necessary, but improve your experience on the platform.
Legal basis: Consent (GDPR Art. 6(1)(a) + ePrivacy Directive).
Advertising (Off by default — opt-in)
Used to deliver advertisements relevant to you and your interests on third-party platforms (e.g. Facebook, Instagram, Google), and to measure the effectiveness of our advertising campaigns. We use Meta Pixel (Facebook) and Google Ads for this purpose. These cookies may track you across websites and may involve transfer of data to third countries (e.g., USA) under appropriate safeguards (Standard Contractual Clauses, UK Addendum/IDTA, or EU-US Data Privacy Framework where applicable).
Legal basis: Consent (GDPR Art. 6(1)(a) + ePrivacy Directive).
5. Withdrawal of consent
You can withdraw or change your consent at any time. Click Cookie Settings in the footer of any page to re-open the preferences panel.
Your cookie preferences are stored locally on this device. Non-essential cookies that you have rejected will not be set, and any previously set cookies in those categories will be deleted upon your next page reload. To completely remove all cookies, please clear your browser cookies.
6. Just-in-time notices
In addition to the cookie banner, MyYacht.me shows context-specific notices at the moment relevant data is collected:
- Booking form — a notice below the submit button confirms that booking details will be shared with the independent Boat Owner.
- Marketing opt-in — at registration, an unchecked opt-in checkbox lets you receive promotional offers; you can unsubscribe at any time.
- Special-requests field — a notice next to the "Special requests" textarea reminds you not to share sensitive personal data unless strictly necessary for safe charter.
- Identity verification (KYC) — when KYC is required (bookings above €15,000 or other AML triggers), a notice explains why government-issued ID is requested and how it is processed.
7. International data transfers
Some analytics and advertising cookies are set by providers located in the USA (Google, Meta). We rely on Standard Contractual Clauses (SCCs), the UK International Data Transfer Agreement / UK Addendum, and the EU-US Data Privacy Framework where the provider is certified, plus supplementary measures such as encryption, pseudonymisation, and access controls.
See our Privacy Policy — International Data Transfers for the full position.
